Im sorry but look at this, look at this. This beautiful video encompasses the very heart of Harry Potter. Our hearts. The hearts of people all over the world, connected through one tale. How beautiful is that? That people everywhere, no matter age, race or gender will and can come together over something they believe in. Something where everyone is accepted and can truly, honestly and whole heartedly be home. Nothing will ever compare to this, ever compare to the true heart and soul within these books and movies. Nothing.
This fandom, this story, this childhood is something we should all be proud of. That we are proud of, and always will be. There will never be another series that can effect me the way this did, and why? Because I will never have another childhood. But you know what… I wouldnt want another. Because this one is perfect.

I love this video.
Every time I watch this video, it just hits me all over again how heartbreaking, beautiful, wonderful, brilliant, gorgeous, soul-touching this story is. This video encompasses an entire childhood.
And it focuses on the thing that always seems to be a side thought when thinking about Harry Potter: this is the story of a war. Yes, it’s Harry’s story. His history and fight with Voldemort. But as early as book four (maybe earlier, but that seems to be where it starts for me) this is the story of a long battle between good and evil and the shades of gray inbetween. There is no perfect person, there aren’t happily ever afters for all; this is war.
Which is why I think Harry will live on in generations to come. Because as human beings, we don’t want the easy stories. Those stories don’t show us how to find the light in the darkness, the good bits in with the bad times. And that’s what we need. We need the stories that tell us, life isn’t fair. Bad things happen to good people. But you can choose to give up and let darkness win, or you can fight back. It won’t be easy. But it will get better.

Sometimes, in leiu of the series being over and new fandoms grabbing my attention, I forget how much I REALLY love Harry Potter. It was my very first fandom. My first love. The strongest and the most beautiful. The terror and love and sorrow and anger and tenderness it evokes. I have been a fangirl since I was 6, and I will never stop being one either. harry Potter will always be the beginning of who I am.
Oh, and this video is probably the best HP fanvid I have ever seen. You should all watch it. Seriously.

Have a wonderful Prom night. Have my last pool party. My friends love my parties. I want to have a last party with my family too. Before leaving, stay all day in my PJ’s and just watch some movies with mom. I want to eat for three while I’m on diet. I want to have a last kiss before I leave. I want to see my sister who I’ve not seen for 8 years. I want to see her children. I want to let go everything that as happened in the last four years. I want to let go.
I want to forgive me. I want to be sure of what I’m doing. I’m still asking myself ‘What on earth am I doing?!’ I want to have the answer.
